Property Virgins

Property Virgins is a reality television series produced by Cineflix. The show portrays the experiences of prospective first-time home buyers, or "property virgins." The host of the show coaches first time home buyers to adjust their dream home vision to a more realistic one that fits the market and their budget. The program originated on HGTV Canada in March 2006 and expanded to HGTV in the United States in its second season. The program was hosted by Sandra Rinomato, a Toronto-based real estate expert, from its inception until 2011, and is now hosted by Egypt Sherrod. Rinomato subsequently launched a new HGTV series, Buy Herself, in April 2012.

Deserving Design

Deserving Design is a half-hour show on the Home and Garden TV network, starring Vern Yip. In each episode an inspirational family or individual is visited by Yip, who show him two different rooms they would like to have redesigned. Yip will pick one of the rooms to do and have the person or family aid in its design. However, Yip always surprises them by secretly redoing the other room, usually while covertly having them offer input into it, or by giving them some other special gift.

Color Correction

Color Correction, for HGTV, features expert designer Constance Ramos coming to the rescue of homeowners who have inadvertently created a color disaster in a room they tried to design themselves. Each episode features a room with a specific color dilemma. Working with a budget of approximately $2000, designer Constance Ramos and carpenter Ron Ortiz makeover the room with an emphasis on using color effectively… from paint colors, to fabrics, to tiles, flooring, furniture and accessories. Constance helps our homeowners correct their problem space and transform it into the vivid, colorful room of their dreams.

Spice Up My Kitchen

When a kitchen is so dysfunctional and ugly that every night is take-out, Spice Up My Kitchen steps in to cook up a hot new space. Designer Lauren Lake and her carpenter duo, Jeff Devlin and Mark McGraw, take kitchens that the homeowners think are outdated or ugly, tear them down and rebuild them from scratch -- providing the homeowners with brand-new kitchens. Designer Lauren Lake presents the homeowners with two design plans based on their budget and wish list. The homeowners choose a plan then before they know it, their old kitchen is transformed into a delicious new space.

Color Splash

Color Splash is a television show on the U.S. cable network HGTV, hosted by David Bromstad. The series was created for Bromstad after winning season one of HGTV Design Star. It debuted March 19, 2007, on HGTV. The show focuses on transforming rooms by dramatic uses of color. The show also features color specialist and carpenter Danielle Hirsch, who debuted on HGTV's Design Remix starring Karen McAloon. Color Splash has relocated from San Francisco to Miami, with new episodes which premiered in the summer of 2010. After the show ended, David Bromstad moved on to mentoring and presenting on HGTV Design Star.

Living With Ed

Living With Ed is an American reality television show. It was originally shown on HGTV in 2007. In 2009 a new version began showing on the new Planet Green channel. The show follows actor Ed Begley, Jr. in his quest to live his life with a small carbon footprint. The series records the conflicts between him and his less zealous wife Rachelle Carson who many times suffers due to her husband's uncompromising beliefs. One of the most frequent capers Begley engages in is making his home environmentally more friendly, which he competes with his best friend Bill Nye. Other celebrities have appeared on the show including Jay Leno, Jackson Browne and Jack McGee. Commenting in 2006 on the appeal of the show, Begley said: "In the format of the show, everyone who watches—even people who have never thought about living a low-impact, environmentally conscious life—will be able to relate. They’ll come away with a raised awareness, but they’ll also enjoy seeing the differences between the Rachelle and me." In July 2009 Planet Green announced that it had produced 13 new episodes of the series that would begin airing on October 21, 2009.

24 Hour Design

24 Hour Design is an American reality television series involving a team consisting of a host and designer, design assistant and a carpenter that help homeowners transform a single room. The show is shot in a single day, with a budget around $2,000. Original episodes of 24 Hour Design began to air on HGTV October 6, 2006. The program's second season began July 10, 2007. In each episode of 24 Hour Design, the host meets with the homeowners to discuss the redesign of their room. The team and homeowners work on the space together up until the final hour. In the final hour the designer transforms the room for the final reveal. The redesign usually consists of painting of the room and the construction a furniture piece.

Takeover My Makeover

Hosted by Kelli Kirkland Powers, "Takeover My Makeover" rescues homeowners who are in the midst of home remodels and need help. Designers Frank Fontana, Kelli Ellis and Valerie Bickford make up the rest of the rescue crew. With a budget of $2,000, the team helps homeowners successfully complete their original visions for the projects. Among the tasks the design team tackles are remodeling a family room to look like a New England beach cottage and giving a couple a bedroom with a 1920s Hollywood theme.

HGTV Dream Home

The HGTV Dream Home is the American cable network Home & Garden Television's annual project house and sweepstakes, held since 1997. The sweepstakes commences with a January 1st TV special showcasing the fully furnished, custom-built dream home valued in excess of one million dollars; an in-depth tour reveals what makes these homes and their beautiful locations so special.

Junk Brothers

Junk Brothers is a reality television series broadcast by HGTV Canada. Brothers and show hosts Steve and Jim Kelley collect discarded items and use these to create new furniture. These works are then returned to the people who discarded them; the former owners of the 'junk' do not expect their discards to be refurbished in this manner. The first episode aired 6 April 2006. By July 2006, the series was also televised on the American HGTV network. A second season began airing in Canada and the USA on January 2007.

House Hunters International

Neat

Neat is a Canadian television series, which airs on HGTV in Canada and formerly on Discovery Home in the United States. Hosted by professional organizer Hellen Buttigieg, Neat is a home improvement series in which Buttigieg helps a person with cluttered living spaces devise solutions to help organize their lives and possessions more effectively.

Designed to Sell

Designed to Sell is an HGTV American reality television show produced by Pie Town Productions in Los Angeles and Chicago and Edelman Productions in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. Each 30-minute episode focuses on fixing up a home that is about to go on the market or that has been on the market but has not attracted buyers. The show began airing in 2004 and was canceled in 2011. The show provides expert real estate and design advice and general contractors, who are given a $2,000 budget for materials to get a maximum offer for the house. To add excitement to the show, the renovations generally take place over a period of three to seven days, before the home's open house, generally spread out over the course of three or four weeks. The show pays the contractor's fees and the salaries of the carpenters, landscapers, painters, plumbers, and other workers. Most changes are cosmetic, but some require drastic demolition and reconstruction.

Holmes on Homes

Holmes on Homes is a Canadian television series featuring general contractor Mike Holmes visiting homeowners who are in need of help, mainly due to unsatisfactory home renovations performed by hired contractors. The series originally aired on Home & Garden Television in Canada, and also on several other Alliance Atlantis networks in Canada, as well as in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and on HGTV in the United States. It had previously aired in the US on Discovery Home until that channel was rebranded Planet Green on June 4, 2008. It was once the highest-rated show on the Canadian HGTV, with shows airing upwards of 20 times a week at the peak of its popularity. It has won the Gemini viewers' choice award, a testament to the popularity of the show in Canada. Originally, Holmes on Homes ran as a series of 30-minute episodes, but moved to a one-hour format midway through the third season due to popular demand. Several longer specials have aired: the one-hour season finale to the first season, Whole House Disaster; the one-hour Holmes for the Holidays at the end of the third season; the two-hour House to Home season finale for the fourth season; the two-hour specials Out of the Ashes and Holmes Inspection in the fifth season; the two-hour sixth-season episode Pasadena 911; and the two-hour Lien on Me in the final season. The latest episode is available for viewing on HGTV's website. The first five seasons of half-hour and hour long episodes, as well as the "Holmes for the Holidays" episode, are also available for purchase on DVD. Season seven commenced airing in Australia on 1 October 2008 on the HOW TO Channel and in the UK on 24 March 2009 on Discovery Shed.
