John Barnard, London (Lugt 1419), sold [through his estate sale, April 16, 1798, lot 79, 80, 81, or 82]. [1] Possibly [Evans, London], sold [2]; to Francis Calley Gray, 1856, bequest; to William Gray, his nephew, 1856, gift; to Harvard University, 1857 Notes [1] There are four impressions, lots 79-81 of “Little Latombe” in Barnard’s sale. [2] An annotation on the reverse suggest that the print was acquired by Francis Calley Gray from the London dealer Evans in 1856; it is known that many of his best old-master impressions came from Evans at the time.
