Seated on a blue and white striped carpet of an outdoor terrace are six musicians, three males three females. Four of the musicians play a tumbi or tambura, a type of string instrument, while two musicians play a tabla, a type of drum native to India. The male musicians wear a type of turban that was fashionable among Sikhs in the early 19th century. The female musicians are adorned with necklaces, earrings, nose rings, and head ornaments. The terrace is enclosed by a white marble fence with pierced design. Delicate flowering trees decorate the background. Pahari School.
