Cizhou-type ware: light gray stoneware with medium brown glaze over white slip, the decoration incised into the glaze before firing to reveal the white slip. Place of manufacture uncertain--probably from northern China.

Enameled porcelain: porcelain with an all-over coating of overglaze yellow enamel, the design reserved in red enamel against the yellow ground, the details articulated in black enamel on the reserved designs; with underglaze cobalt-blue mark reading "Da Ming Jiajing nian zhi" on the base.
