Hrvatski Top Model Cycle 1 was the first Cycle of a reality documentary based on Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model which pits contestants against each other in a variety of competitions to determine who will win title of the new Croatian Top Model as well as a modelling contract with an agency in hopes of a promising career start in the modeling industry. The Cycle was aired from April to June 2008 and hosted by Tatjana Jurić and featured 16 contestants. Croatian Fashion Designer Marco Grubnic also had several appearances on the first Cycle to introduce the girls to the fashion industry and give them constructive criticism. After 14 weeks, Sabina Behlić was named the winner of the first Cycle beating Valentina Dropulić and Marina Jerković in the final. In 2010 the show was also shown in Slovenia on TV3 under the name Hrvaški Top Model.

0Hrvatska traži zvijezdu is the second Croatian version of Pop Idol and is currently airing on RTL Televizija. In the first season the competitors were judged by Croatian musicians Tony Cetinski, Jelena Radan and Goran Lisica - Fox. Due to private commitments Radan left in the beginning of the second season and was replaced by Anđa Marić. Antonija Blaće, famous for participating and hosting the Croatian Big Brother edition is the host of the competition which makes her the first person ever to host the two local versions of these franchises. Season 1 was aired from February to June 2009 and was won by Bojan Jambrošić. The second season was aired from April to June 2010 and was won by Kim Verson.

Croatian top-model Tatjana Jurić fills the host role of Tyra Banks in the original series as the head of the search as well as a mentor for the 16 girls that have been chosen to live in a house together in Zagreb. Together with the panel of judges which includes Borut Mihalić, Boris Bašić, Damir Hoyka and Boris Cavlina Jurić judges on the girls each week where usually one, but often two girls were eliminated until only 3 girls were left. Croatian Fashion Designer Marco Grubnic also had several appearances on the first Cycle to introduce the girls to the fashion industry and give them constructive criticism. After 14 weeks, Sabina Behlić was named the winner of the first Cycle beating Valentina Dropulić and Marina Jerković in the final. The show will return with a second Cycle in autumn 2010 with Vanja Rupena replacing Jurić.

Zabranjena ljubav is a Croatian daytime soap opera about the lives and loves of both young and older characters, focused on the major Croatian city of Zagreb. Actors Mario Valentic, Antonija Sola, Nada Rocco, Dejan Marcikic and Anita Berisha are the only remaining original cast members. The soap tackles controversial issues, such as rape, homosexuality, adultery, and deadly diseases. The viewers of this soap are varied, ranging from small children to senior citizens. Zabranjena ljubav is a remake of Australian soap opera Sons and Daughters, initially based on that serial's original story and character outlines, before diverging as the new series progressed. In April 2008, RTL Televizija announced that the highly popular soap opera will end its run after 4 years this fall in its time slot 7:30 PM.
