Wildcat Under Glass

The unforgettable children's series of ERT by Alki Zei. The adaptation of the classic novel by Alki Zei, about two sisters, Melia and Myrto, and an embalmed wildcat, or kaplan as they called it, at the time of the Metaxas dictatorship. In Samos of 1936, the girls, along with a grandfather who is constantly telling stories and a cousin, a student from Athens, will play the “game of the kaplan”, the stuffed wildcat locked inside a showcase in the house’s parlour.

At the Campsite

The series evolves during a laid-back summer at a camping in Peloponesse, Greece. Takis is an entrepreneur who sets up and manages a campsite on a picturesque coast of the Peloponesse. He staffs the campsite with locals, including his cousin Mitsos who is a horse breeder and works as the riding instructor of the campsite. The series details the short-lived relations and interactions between campsite staff and guests, and especially the summer love of Mitsos with Samantha–an English tourist.

Tales from the fairytale box

A children's series with puppets and actors, produced by the Sofianos family. In it stars a little girl, Paraskevi, and her box of puppets which are named Sevastianos, Fiogkos, Rouchlas and Melia. As soon as night falls and Paraskevi goes to her bedroom to sleep, she opens the box and the puppets recount to her folk tales from all over the world. The fairy tales were collected by Ivi Sofianou from libraries in Munich. The series premiered on Friday, February 5, 1988 and ran for 22 episodes.

Like crazy birds

The autobiography of Maria Iordanidou from 1920 to 1960. The author continues the narratives of the adventures, taking on the form of Anna, granddaughter of Loxandra for dramatic reasons. She begins her story with the destruction of the house in Makrychori, Constantinople, by the Turks. Then Anna goes on a transfer to Alexandria, Egypt, and there she meets her future husband Christidis. Their romance ends in marriage and the newlywed couple comes to Athens. Anna finds a job and works as a secretary at the Soviet embassy. During the years of German occupation, she is arrested by the Gestapo, survives after many hardships, gets caught up in the whirlwind of the civil war and finally manages to raise her children.
