Sophie
Sophie is a Canadian television sitcom that aired on CBC from January 9, 2008 to March 23, 2009. It stars Natalie Brown as Sophie Parker, an unmarried single mother and talent agent. The show is an English-language adaptation of Télévision de Radio-Canada's show Les Hauts et les bas de Sophie Paquin. The show was created by Richard Blaimert and its executive producer is Jocelyn Deschênes, the same creative team behind the original series. It was the CBC's second attempt in as many years to create an English adaptation of a successful series from its French sister network, following the less successful Rumours. In February 2008, it was announced that the show had been bought by ABC Family, part of Disney-ABC Television Group in the United States. The network signed on for the first 13 episodes, as well as an option for the second season of the show. On March 27, 2009, the series was cancelled by CBC due to poor ratings.
jPod
jPod is a comedic television series based on Douglas Coupland’s novel of the same name. It premiered on CBC Television on January 8, 2008. Starting with the fifth episode, the show began airing Fridays at 9:00. On April 4, 2008, it was announced that the CBC had cancelled the show because of low ratings. However, all but one of the remaining episodes aired. The cancellation of jPod sparked a fan-led protest. The show's opening title theme is Flutter by Bonobo. Produced by I’m Feeling Lucky Productions for the CBC, jPod was created by Douglas Coupland and Michael MacLennan. Coupland also co-wrote many of season one’s episodes.
The Border
The Border is a Canadian drama that aired on CBC Television and 20 other TV networks worldwide. It was created by Peter Raymont, Lindalee Tracey, Janet MacLean and Jeremy Hole of White Pine Pictures. The Executive in Charge of Production is Janice Dawe. Episodes in the first season were directed by John Fawcett, Michael DeCarlo, Ken Girotti, Kelly Makin, Brett Sullivan and Philip Earnshaw. The first season had a total budget of 20 million dollars, with about 1.5 million dollars per episode. The series is set in Toronto and follows agents of the fictitious Immigration and Customs Security agency. ICS was created by the Government of Canada to deal with trans-border matters concerning Canadian national security including terrorism and smuggling. The cancellation of The Border was announced by the CBC after three seasons were aired.

Magi-Nation is an animated television series based on the card game Magi Nation Duel. The show premiered in Canada on September 8, 2007 on CBC Television and on September 22, 2007 in the U.S. on Kids' WB. A series of DVDs are set to be released on October 21, 2008 through January 6, 2009. The series has formerly aired in the U.S. on Toonzai on The CW, and formerly on Cookie Jar Toons on This TV, with the second season worldwide premiere airing on Cookie Jar Toons.

The Altar Boy Gang was a satirical half hour comedy developed for the Canadian television network CBC Television in 2007. Although two episodes were shot and four more were commissioned to be written, the show was not picked up as a regular series. The two pilot episodes of this series written by Norm Hiscock aired on CBC in 2007. The show drew much angry response from Catholic groups who felt its portrayal of altar boys as drug dealing hooligans was offensive. Also the depiction of a Catholic priest who inadvertently ingests LSD was seen as disrespectful. Others enjoyed the shows and saw them merely as character studies of less-than-perfect people finding their way in the world. Kelly Makin, the director of the two pilot episodes, and David Makin, the director of photography, worked with Norm on the television show The Kids in the Hall. Andy Jones, who played the role of Father Sand, also wrote with Norm on the last season of The Kids in the Hall. Dan Redican was the story editor. The song "Soldiers of Christ" by the Canadian band Blood Meridian was the title music for the show.

The Mighty Jungle is a puppet series for preschoolers in which the narrative of the story is largely crafted by a group of preschoolers who appear in live-action segments interspersed between puppet-acted scenes. The Great War is a CBC television film documenting Canadian participation in the First World War. The film stars Justin Trudeau and was shown on Canadian television during the 90th Anniversary of the Vimy Ridge battle, airing in two parts on April 8 and April 9, 2007. The Fox website included the following notice seeking people to participate in the making of the film: Did your great-grandfather take Vimy Ridge? Did he play a part in the three-month battle at Passchendaele? Did he break through the German line at Amiens? For a landmark film to mark the 90th anniversary of the First World War, the CBC is recruiting 300 descendants of those who went to war between 1914 and 1918. The descendants will walk in the footsteps of their ancestors and take part in massive battle recreations.
