The story revolves around Yukari, a city hall employee who hosts a matchmaking-party held on a train running along the beautiful Sanriku Coastal Area. One day, she happens to live with her brother-in-law who resolves to cook an original ramen noodle.

Kamogawa Shokudo

Those who come to this inconspicuous eatery near Higashi Honganji in Kyoto are people of today who have troubles. Work, family, life, love, interpersonal relationships… Although their troubles are wide-ranging, the eatery’s poster girl Kamogawa Koishi accepts customers’ troubles with sincerity while her father, Nagare uses the instincts and powers of observation honed as a detective, to identify what meals customers truly desire and demonstrates his skills by recreating them. Customers who eat the “food with memories”, which are the fruits of the efforts of Koishi and Nagare, will leave Kamogawa Shokudo, finding the courage to live and pleasures of life.

Rupture

Kamura Yoichiro is a distinguished heart surgeon who had discovered the cure to rejuvenate aging failing hearts. However, Kamura is unaware of the side-effect of the cure that he had invented... the heart will rupture when it is over stimulated. Sakuma Kazuhisa is a bureaucrat who believes that the old are a problem to society. He feels that they are good-for-nothings who should be eliminated before they destroy the country. Suspecting Kamura's cure to have a negative side-effect, Sakuma plots to use it to achieve his nefarious objectives. Kuraki Rentaro was once a famous actor. His heart is failing, but he wishes to star in one last film before he dies, and so he opts for the procedure under Kamura.

Asa ga Kita

Towards the end of the Edo era, in the town of Kyoto, there lived a wealthy merchant by the name of Imai Tadamasa. He was blessed with 3 children, Hatsu, Asa and Kyutaro. His eldest, Hatsu, was a traditional girl who loved to play the koto and sew. Whilst his second daughter, Asa, was an impish hoyden who loved sumo wrestling. Asa was engaged to be married to the second son of a distinguished family who ran a money changer business in Osaka, Shirooka Shinjiro. Although Asa was furious when she had first heard about the betrothal, when she met up with Shinjiro for the first time, his charisma greatly attracted her and she fell in love with him in no time.

Designer Baby

Hiroshi Chikamori is a famous doctor in physical engineering. His one week old daughter Nozomi is abducted at the hospital. Yuri Hayami (Meisa Kuroki) is a detective in a special investigation team. She is also 8 months pregnant. Inspector Himura (Satoshi Jinbo) suddenly summons Yuri and assigns her to observe Nozomi’s mother Yuko (Yumi Adachi) at the hospital. Yuri Hayami goes undercover at the hospital and works with Detective Fukuske Dobashi (Daichi Watanabe) who takes the identity of her husband. Doctor Susami (Atsuro Watabe) doesn't have an alibi for the time period when the baby was kidnapped. Yuri suspects Doctor Susami. Meanwhile, the kidnapper calls and reveals a ransom demand.~ Based on the novel "Dizaina Beibi" by Takashi Okai

Manben: Behind the Scenes of Manga with Urasawa Naoki

Urasawa Naoki no Manben (Naoki Urasawa's Manga Exertions) is a TV Documentary airing on NHK Educational TV. It follows acclaimed mangaka Naoki Urasawa (creator of 20th Century Boys and Monster) as he sets out to break new ground for manga even further than he already has. In an attempt to educate viewers about manga and preserve the intricate craftsmanship and process of Japanese artists on video for future generations, he invites a manga artist to have their workplace filmed for a couple of days, so as to display them in the process of crafting chapters for their current serializations. After the footage has been shot, Urasawa meets with the artist and they discuss the footage, talking about the artist's workplace and workflow, the difficulties involved in the mangaka lifestyle, their reasons for drawing manga in the first place, and their perspective on the current industry and their own work.

In early 1965, a child violinist who was expected to be a prodigy, came up to Tokyo from Nagasaki and lived in lodgings. In the 1970s, the violinist (Suda Masaki) faced a setback during the uproar over the US-Japan security treaty. Even so, he did not cut off music. By the time he realised it, he had started singing as Grape. This is a story centred around his high school and university days surrounded by different people including friends, teachers as well as older men at his part-time job.
