The Family

The Family, the program commemorating the 55th anniversary of the launch of the TBS TV station, is a social drama depicting the inside story between bureaucrats, politicians, and big businesses over a bank merger revolving around the family discord between Daisuke Manpyō, the owner and president of Hanshin Bank, and his eldest son, Teppei.

Venus Versus Virus

Venus Versus Virus revolves around the life of a young girl named Sumire Takahana who has had the power to see ghosts since she was a small child, though no one believes her. One night while running to her dorm building to make curfew, a broach flies out of no where and she pricks her finger on it and sees a demon. Suddenly, another girl clad in gothic lolita clothing arrives bearing a huge gun and kills the demon. Once the ordeal is overwith, the girl gives Sumire a flier for a local clothing store, Venus Vanguard. When Sumire comes to the store, the girl, whose name is Lucia Nabashi, she explains to her that because she pricked her finger on Lucia's broach, Sumire now has the power to see demons as well as ghosts. Additionally, Lucia now wants Sumire to help her rid the world of these demons called Virus that threaten to consume all of humanity.

Hidamari Sketch

For years, Yuno has dreamed of attending Yamabuki Arts High School, but now that she's been accepted, it means the scary prospect of moving away from her home and family for the first time! Fortunately, Yuno quickly learns that if her new neighbors at the eclectic Hidamari (Sunshine) Apartments aren't technically family, at least the majority share the bond of being fellow art students. From second year students like Hiro and Sae, who try to behave like helpful older sisters (mostly successfully) to her hyperactive new neighbor, classmate and best friend Miyako (who has the scariest apartment ever) Yuno begins to build the support network she'll need for dealing with strange characters like her oddly masculine landlady, her cosplay obsessed home room teacher, her tooth-chattering principal and all of the other odd denizens who inhabit her chosen world of art.

Sparkling Medical Intern

Adapted from a popular blog, this drama follows the comical struggles and growth of an intern doctor, Usako, played by Konishi Manami in her first lead role. While Wentz Eiji stars as a male nursing aide to Usako, who falls in love with her.

Di Gi Charat: Winter Garden

Gone are the cat ears and the laser beam eyes, instead replaced by an everyday life that is nothing short of ordinary. But when Dejiko crosses paths with a handsome young man on Christmas Eve, will he bring the magic back to her mundane life? Or will the former alien princess miss her shot a true love?

Waraeru Koi wa Shitakunai

Teppan Girl

Kagura Akane is the only daughter of a family who runs a teppanyaki place in downtown Tokyo. Akane had always been proud of her father Tetsuma, who was called the "No.1 teppanyaki chef in Japan." Growing up in such an environment, she naturally acquired "teppanyaki skills." However, when her mother died of illness, her father lost his energy to work and disappeared. Since then, Akane has managed and protected the restaurant all by herself. One day, out of the blue, she is visited by Erena, the rich daughter of a major food company, who orders Akane to move out at once because her father had borrowed money against his restaurant. Though feeling disappointed, Akane makes up her mind to close the store. But when her father's friend, Kurogane, shows her "Ittetsu," a grilling plate that Akane's father cherished, it reignites her passion towards teppanyaki.

Sailor Suit and Machine Gun

High school student Hoshi Izumi loses her father suddenly in an accident. One day, Sakuma, the waka gashira of a small and weak Yakuza gang in Asakusa - the Medaka Gumi - pays Izumi a visit along with the gang members. The death of their former kumicho (Boss) puts Medaka Gumi on the verge of a breakup. Therefore, Sakuma begs Izumi, the former boss's only distant relative left, to succeed to the kumicho position. Izumi is taken by surprise and keeps refusing at first. However, she ends up becoming the 8th kumicho of the Medaka Gumi! The police tell her that her father's death may possibly be a homicide case. There's also Mayumi, a mysterious woman staring closely at Izumi's father's photograph at his funeral. The situation becomes complicated when the drug-dealing vicious yakuza, Hamaguchi Gumi, comes into the picture as well as Sandaiji Hajime, a politician whose public stance is to eliminate drugs.

The Life of Despised Matsuko

Matsuko, in her 20s, is fired as a teacher and degenerates from an elite to a “Soap Lady.” Through her history of affairs with men, she kills her pimp and ends up in prison. Despite her rough lifex struck by terrible misfortunes, she does not stop loving some one and keeps her dreams until the very end. This drama depicts Matsuko’s stormy life as she deals with it head-on.

As the Cold War drags on, the tension between the two factions, as well as the amount of nuclear weapons they have, rise. Mylene Hoffman is a female cyborg who is a spy for the West Block. Together with three other agents, Mylene partakes in various missions issued by her superiors.

Kanon

Mikon Rokushimai

The story of the second daughter of the heroine who took over the ruins of the house in Nariyuki, sisters who do not go to the bride for each reason, and the father who has six daughters. The six sisters bring in troublesome things that involve the family every time, and in a development that does not get bored, the worries and joys of the large family over marriage are drawn brightly and comically.

A Song to the Sun

Amane Kaoru lives a night life, not because she wishes so, but because she is infected with the xeroderma pigmentosum virus. This virus defects the ability to repair damage caused by the sun's rays. Although she cannot expose her body to the sunlight, she dreams of becoming a singer, even if remaining positive has been ruined many times due to her illness. One night, playing outside, she meets Fujishiro Kouji, who has lost his job and hope, and becomes someone who reminds him of his long forgotten music passion.

Akihabara is a Tokyo district full of manga, anime, electronics, video games, figurines, etc. It is a place that gathers fanatics of such themes, people who are commonly referred to as otaku. Page, Box, Akira, Taiko, Daruma, and Izumu are six otaku each with his/her own troubles and sought relief through a website called "Yui's Lifeguard." When site owner Yui died of a mysterious death, the six who are each experts in their own fields gathered to form "Akihabara@DEEP", a "trouble shooter" group that vows to protect Akihabara and solve the problems of its inhabitants.

Scum of Lawyers

Bengoshi no Kuzu is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Hideo Iura about Takeda Masami, a new lawyer and fellow lawyer Kuzu Motohito, who Takeda is teamed up with, and how they deal with different court cases. It was serialized in Big Comic Original. Bengoshi no Kuzu received the Shogakukan Manga Award for seinen/general category in 2007. The manga was adapted into a 12-episode TV drama, which was broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System between April 13, 2006 and June 29, 2006.

Red Miracle

From 1974's Akai Meiro (『赤い迷路』) to 1980's Akai Shisen (『赤い死線』), the Akai ("Red") series had 10 parts. Shown as the Akai Series 2005 last year, the remakes Akai Giwaku in June starring Ishihara Satomi and Akai Unmei in the fall season starring Ayase Haruka have received much acclaim. Hence this spring, Akai Kiseki will be broadcast as the 11th part in the series. Akai Kiseki revolves around the basic plot of a star in the female figure-skating world who falls in love with a youth who had killed someone in the past and portrays various trials and tribulations these star-crossed lovers have to go through to pursue their forbidden love. With the theme that "it is possible to illuminate one's life based on one's efforts," we launch this fresh modern installment of the Akai series. Fukada Kyoko is trying out figure-skating for the first time in this show, and be sure not to miss scenes where she appears in the skating costumes and gorgeous clothes.
