City Hall

The City Hall is a 2009 South Korean television series starring Kim Sun-ah and Cha Seung-won. It aired on SBS from April 29 to July 2, 2009 on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 21:55 for 20 episodes. Written by Kim Eun-sook and directed by Shin Woo-chul, the story revolves around a low-ranking government clerk who becomes the youngest mayor of the fictional Inju City, and her romance with an ambitious and cynical deputy mayor. The drama series also marked movie star Cha Seung-won's return to the small screen after a six-year absence.

Star's Lover

Lee Ma Ri, a star actress, falls in love with Jung Woo Jin, but she realizes that he became interested in her after reading her popular travel essay, “Lovers in Asuka”. Because of this, the ghostwriter for “Lovers in Asuka”, Kim Chul Soo, gets called in by Ma Ri for private lessons about the details on the travel essay. However, Byung Joon, Chul Soo’s friend and journalist, discovers that Chul Soo is the real writer of “Lovers in Asuka”, and he suggests that Chul Soo should sell a story about Lee Ma Ri’s personal life. This makes Chul Soo troubled because he was in desperate need of money for his sick sister. As Chul Soo realizes that he is no longer needed by Ma Ri, he decides to follow Byung Joon’s suggestion. Woo Jin ends up proposing marriage to Ma Ri and prepares a documentary film based on “Lovers in Asuka”. Chul Soo and Eun Young join in the project as writers, and Chul Soo begins to meet Ma Ri again during the filming.

Amnok River Flows

This drama portrays the turbulent life of Lee Mi Reuk, a Korean expatriate who fought for the freedom of his country while studying medicine in Tokyo, during the period when Korea was under Japanese colonial rule. He fled to China and eventually settled in Germany.

Temptation of Wife

One night Goo Eun Jae got drunk and Jung Gyo Bin took this opportunity to take advantage of her. Eun Jae and Gyo Bin got married but their marriage is not a very blissful marriage. Eun Jae's best friend, Shin Ae Ri, openly flirts with Gyo Bin in front of Eun Jae. Gyo Bin decided that he did not want to remain married to Eun Jae and tried to kill her. Eun Jae was presumed to have drown and died. Gyo Bin thought he was successful in killing Eun Jae and moved on with Ae Ri. Months later, Eun Jae is back for revenge but she assumes the identity of another woman, Min So Hee, who had killed herself. How will Gyo Bin react to a girl who looks exactly like his presumed dead wife, Eun Jae? Will he be tempted by So Hee?

Family's Honor

Family's Honor is a South Korean television series starring Yoon Jung-hee, Park Si-hoo, Jeon No-min, Kim Sung-min, Shin Da-eun, Jeon Hye-jin, and Maya. It aired on SBS from October 11, 2008 to April 19, 2009 on Saturdays and Sundays at 21:55 for 54 episodes. With its strong focus on family traditions and values, the series revolves around the tangled and less than perfect lives of the illustrious Ha family. It centers on the filial granddaughter of the Ha household, played by Yoon Jung-hee. Writer Jung Ji-woo said, "I wanted to write a story about a very backward woman. I wanted to see how a woman who cannot speak up for herself and likes to sew could survive in modern society." Director Park Young-soo added that, "I wanted to revive the significance of our dying traditions. I worked hard to capture that."

Painter of the Wind

Painter of the Wind is a 2008 South Korean historical television series starring Moon Geun-young and Park Shin-yang. Based on the bestselling historical fiction novel by Lee Jung-myung that took artistic license with the premise that perhaps the Joseon painter Shin Yun-bok had really been a woman, it centers on Yun-bok, a talented young painter who disguises herself as a boy to search for her father's murderer. She meets Kim Hong-do, a master painter who guides her into becoming a great artist, and they develop a strong friendship of mentor and disciple. The drama has won numerous awards, including the Asian TV Series Special Award at the 2010 Shanghai Television Festival and the silver award at the 2010 Houston International Film Festival, while actress Moon Geun-young received the grand prize at the 2008 SBS Drama Awards, as well as Best TV Actress at the 2009 Baeksang Arts Awards and 2008 Grimae Awards for her role.

Yoon So-yi stars as an ambitious and tough reporter whose life and career take a turn after she falls for a charming and persistent suitor, and marries him. But her aspirations of becoming a great reporter are put on hold while she struggles with her new life as the daughter-in-law of a rich, influential but controlling chaebol family. On the sidelines is her mentor and friend, a head newscaster for whom she also develops uncertain feelings.

Family Outing

Family Outing Season 1 was a South Korean variety show; a part of SBS's Good Sunday lineup, along with Gold Miss is Coming. It was first aired on June 15, 2008, and was one of the top rated programs on Sunday Korean television. In each episode, the "Family" travels to different parts of South Korea and takes care of the house of an elderly family while that family goes on a vacation. The "Family" then accomplishes the tasks left for them by the house's owners. The first season ended on February 14, 2010, and a second season featuring a brand new cast, production team, and concept, aired until July 11, 2010.
