Annie must memorize a poem for school declamation and her grandmother, a former teacher, Nanay Bernadette helps her with her performance. But as Annie struggles to remember the poem, Nanay Bernadette's painful memories gradually resurface, causing the two to come to terms with their shared emotional burden.
