10s Across the Borders

A documentary that tells the story of four trailblazers of the underground ballroom scene – an African American and Latino LGBTQ subculture that originated in New York City in the 1970s and ‘80s – who were the first to start this community in Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore. We witness their journeys as they hold on to their found families, their dreams of connection with the ballroom culture’s American origins, and the growth of a flourishing community across Southeast Asia.
