3rd quarter of 19th century
This early wallhanging with alternating striped patterns has the characteristic saturated color of early ikats along with a tight, almost electric tension between the curved floral patterns and the sharply pointed chevron stripes that surround them. It demonstrates a warped-face plain weave.
