Description

Painted plain weave cotton duck canvas fragment with knife cut edges and a white ground layer. A layer of bright reddish orange paint is applied by brush over the white ground and has been applied diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. The fragment's edges are also cut diagonally with respect to the canvas weave. There is a thicker drip of the orange paint, which also runs diagonally with respect to the canvas weave.
