c. 1970
A wrestler holds himself off the ground with his hands in the lower right corner. An earthen barrier runs diagonally through the composition, separating him from a row of seven training batons and two blocks. Parallel to this is the hard edge of the embankment, overlooking a glowing white body of water, the Ganges River, and a distant shoreline. This photograph is a powerful study in tonality, with the deep shading of the wrestler's muscular back contrasting with the lightness of the river.
