There is a pattern resembling a snowflake on the verso. A newspaper clipping with a photo of the subject is pinned to the drawing at u.l.c. with a straight pin. According to the caption, the photograph depicts Maurine Palmer, Contralto. Ross has inscribed in graphite on the clipping: Sunday Herald / Nov. 28 1926
