Royal Cortissoz, sold; to Grenville L. Winthrop, February 1934 [1], bequest; to the Fogg Art Museum, 1943 [1] Winthrop purchased this drawing from Cortissoz, who was in need of money or, as he put it, "a rescue in a moment of trouble." He sold Winthrop drawings by Degas, Dewing, and Mowbray at the same time. See Cortissoz-Winthrop file in FAM archives.
