20th century
actual: 48.7 x 32.1 cm (19 3/16 x 12 5/8 in.)
Constantin Brancusi; to [Peridot Gallery, New York, New York], sold; to Lois Orswell, Promfret Center, Connecticut, c. 1955, gift; to Fogg Art Museum, 1986. NOTE: The original provenance given to the drawing had it purchased from Curt Valentin, however, John Honsbeen, a former assistant to Curt Valentin before going to work for the Peridot Gallery says that Mrs. Orswell purchased the drawing from Peridot. A label from the original backing paper would seem to support this claim, the provenance has been changed to reflect this information.
