5th-6th century
Scrolling orange vine forms two medallions, one with a green leaf with red details against buff background, the other with a yellow leaf with dark blue details against a dark blue background. In the interstices created by the orange vine scroll are purple tripartite leaves. Straight edge at left has hint of purple border. Linen warps are doubled and tripled in this tapestry woven band. The colored wefts are wool. Supplementary buff colored wefts create the lower curves inside the green leaf and the uppermost edge of this leaf. The rest of the many curves in this piece are created using eccentric wefts.
