c. 500-599 CE
Engaged pilaster capital, decorated in relief with stylized, spiny-looking acanthus leaves supporting a central rosette, with petals partially open, seen in profile. Rosette is heavily damaged. Acanthus decoration continues around to one short side, suggesting that this was placed in a corner space.
