Straight-sided oval, bright-cut engraved with bands of stylised foliage and each side with a shield-shaped cartouche, one engraved with a crest and script initials NS, the hinged domed cover with conforming decoration and stained ivory pineapple finial, with tapering spout and wood loop handle; the oval stand with wrigglework borders, raised on four part-fluted shaped feet, with conforming decoration and the same crest. The crest, that of a demi-lion rampant, pertains to many families.
