18th century
On a terrace and under an awning, two lovers embrace each other on a daybed (charpoi). The male figure wears a turban, an earring, a long robe (jama), a waist sash (patka), bracelets, and an armlet. He supports his head with his right arm while his left wraps around the female figure and holds her right hand. The female figure wears a chaniya choli, which consists of a crop top and long skirt; a shawl covering her head, earrings, necklaces, and armlets. In front of the bed are trays of food, fruits, drinking flasks, and candles. Outside the enclosed terrace is a female attendant, crouching against the barrier. A crane stands near the entrance. The scene takes place at night, as denoted by the crescent moon in the sky. Rajput Style.
