late 18th century
Seated facing right with his legs folded underneath him is a young prince. His royal status is denoted by his turban ornament (sarpech), from which three large jewels hang, and his earrings. He wears a turban, a long robe (jama) and a necklace. He rests his elbows on a large shield (dhal) in front of him. He holds the pommel of a sword, which is behind the shield, in both of his hands. Rajput Style, Kota School.
