Spiral incision drawn around handle. Coarse sand temper with mica. Fabric is strong red-brown with yellow surface. Finger marks at handle attachment.

Brown-glazed ware of Yue type: light gray stoneware with mottled medium brown glaze. Probably from the Deqing or Yuhang kilns, Zhejiang province.
