The chessboard is part of BR49.576.A-HH (Josef Hartwig, Chess Set), but Peter Nisbet does not think it is a Bauhaus design. There are holes in thirty-two squares which were used to secure pieces to the board at some time. The bottom of the pieces in this set are felt and have a sticker which may or may not obscure a drilled hole. (K.Mims, 1/17/2002)
